Basic Certificate

Students will receive a basic certificate if they have completed a 5-week course or if they have completed a one-day course of 4 hours or longer.

During their course they will have been instructed on the basics of various hand-eye co-ordination skills. These will include juggling, diabolo, devil-stick and spinning plates and might include poi, peacock feather balance, gymnastic ribbons, shaker cups, cigar boxes, plate manipulation and hat manipulation.

They will also have met a number of balance skills. These will include stilt-walking on both strap-on and hand-held stilts, pedal racers and tightrope. They may also use rola-bola, unicycles, walking globe, fun wheels, snakeboards and rocking seesaws. Other balance skills may be added upon occasion.

Each student will be asked to display at least one skill in a show at the end of the course. A holder of this certificate will have covered parts 1, 2 and 3 of the Brownie Circus Performer badge.
