Concrete Circus is happy to take workshops into schools. We charge £250 per day for schools within 25 miles of Milton Keynes and £275 for schools within 75 miles of Milton Keynes. We can also do part days if that is more suitable..

Another option we offer is a 5 week, one-hour a week course. This costs £20 per student per course (minimum 15 students, maximum 30 students) and can run in school time or after school hours.

Workshops are targeted to the age to the student and are best run in 45 minute to 2 hour sessions. We have however run sessions from 20 minutes to 6 hours.

If you have different requirements we are always happy to quote for specific jobs.

Workshops are focused on two types of skill:
Hand-eye co-ordination: Skills such as juggling, diabolo, devil sticks, poi
Balance: Skills such as tightrope, stilts, pedal-gos, unicycles

Not all skills can be taught to all age groups but most are suitable for everyone. Each different skill can be used to demonstrate aspects of school life. For example Poi is a very useful skill with early year students as control uses gross motor skills that help to develop the fine motor skills used in handwriting. Whereas the use of Diabolos can quickly demonstrate how listening and concentration skills are important in making progress.

A circus skills workshop can fit into the school day in many other ways. Over the years we have been part of an activity week based on the circus, an activity week where every lesson was in French and a Science week. Other schools have used us when their school play needed our talents or just to add to the skill base of their sixth form students. We are awaiting the medieval week when we run a jester training school.
